The Condo

Our Burlington condo renovation at the historic Vermont House, overlooking Lake Champlain, has been a collaborative effort for the past 2 years. My husband, David Tanych, and I worked together redesigning the space.  How great is it to have a husband that can build anything!

As we’ve been into curves lately, we used plenty of them in cabinetry and flooring. David experimented with metal, in drawer handles and cabinet feet. Together (mostly him) we built our own little world in the heart of Burlington, three doors down from the famous Flynn theater, a block away from the Church Street Market Place. Not only do I have beautiful walls to hang my art, but was inspired to produce many paintings from the windows and front stoop of this elegant building.

Now the time has come to let go of this project and move on to the next.  We’ve left room for the new owner to decide how to finish the space, dependent on their needs (we have our own ideas too, of course), and are available to work with the purchaser on both design and construction. The condo is also available furnished.

Some of the condo’s unique features include:

  • Roasted quarter sawn white oak solid wood floor
  • Slate entry floor
  • Hand plastered walls and ceilings
  • Custom painted trim and cherry windowsills
  • 2" inch thick cherry doors (we even disguised the metal
  • entry door with a cherry panel on the inside)
  • Custom stainless steel countertop and sink
  • Energy efficient appliances
  • Built in cherry dresser and closet
  • Custom curved white oak vanity with concrete top
